AN EASY HACK FOR FABULOUS SUPER BOWL SALSA

Another CULINARY INSPIRATION WHILE DRIVING that worked out great.

This looks hard to make... it's NOT.

If SUPER BOWL parties have a single common denominator, it might well be salsa-- beside guacamole as scoop-able dips for the tortilla chips, a snazzy topping for all kinds of chili, and a purely vegan option for those otherwise devoid of choices from the usual meat-heavy Game Day spread. Upon perusing a few recipes, making real salsa seems complicated and messy; but one single step makes it really easy--

Purchase some basic salsa from Walmart for $2/jar. Seriously.

Great ValueTM is Walmart's house label. The list of ingredients is refreshingly devoid of unnecessary crap and chemicals--

But don't stop there-- now make this salsa your own by adding some fresh goodies-- finely diced red onion and green pepper, chopped roma tomatoes, and chopped fresh cilantro. I used one 16 oz. jar of Walmart salsa with half a red onion, one medium green pepper, three roma tomatoes, and a handful of leaves from a single bunch of cilantro. The mixture seemed a tad wet at first, but then the veggies soon absorbed enough liquid to give it some firm structure.

It tasted wonderful. And I dare say it looked homemade.
