WINTERSPRING

Richard B.

RichB. chimes in as winter slowly, finally yields to spring.

The hounds howl out their baleful woe

as moonlight glitters on spring snow

The evening air has winter's bite

though children play outdoors this night

They laugh and dance and swirl and sing

and learn the love of Winterspring

They chase the moonlight across the way

and care not of the break of day

When new dawn comes their time will end

and spring will lose its winter friend

They laugh and dance and swirl and sing

and learn the love of Winterspring

The season’s winds sing soft and low

and brush away the winter snow

The children watch new life begin

as spring turns all things green again

They laugh and dance and swirl and sing

and learn the love of Winterspring

The children go their separate ways

to share their love on other days

Winter nods its sleepy head

while spring prepares a flower bed

They laugh and dance and swirl and sing

and learn the love of Winterspring.
